Join us in our Ladies Ministry!
This is just some of what we do each month. We look forward to seeing you!
2016 was the first year of this ministry. Twice a month, the ladies meet for breakfast and discuss who in the congregation has any special needs that could be met. These include sending cards, making phone calls and face-to-face visits. At times, the ladies will make special encouragement baskets for those who are going through a particular difficult time whether it be physically or spiritually to uplift them. Ladies volunteer items for these special baskets. In 2016, the ladies finished the inaugural year of this ministry by enjoying a pancake/sausage breakfast at the building and bringing cookies that were used to make cookie boxes that were distributed to those shut-ins and nursing home individuals to spread some Christmas cheer.
Once a month, the ladies meet for a time of fellowship and devotion. These meetings occur at different houses where a meal is provided by the hostess and each lady contributes a small monetary donation to help with the cost of the meal. After the time of eating and fellowship, one of the ladies shares a devotional thought. Then, ladies are given the opportunity to share any prayer requests that they might have. Then, one of the ladies leads the group in a time of prayer for these requests. The December Ladies Night Out is a special event where the ladies participate in the annual Christmas Dirty Santa Exchange and the dinner is a potluck where each lady brings a dish.
Wednesday Night Class
A Bible Class for Ladies is offered during the congregation’s Wednesday Night Service. Congregational news is shared at the beginning of the hour together and then ladies are given the opportunity to share any prayer requests they might have. The remainder of the time is used to study God’s Word. Past studies have included Beth Moore’s Psalms of Ascent, Lysa Terkeurst’s Unglued and Becoming More studies, and First 5’s Leviticus/Hebrews study. Studies usually last for 6-8 weeks. All ladies of the congregation are invited to attend.
Once a month, the ladies meet to play Bunco as a time of fellowship. At the beginning of each year, ladies are given the opportunity to sign-up to be either Full Time or Sub Bunco members. Full time members take turns hosting the event at their home and providing finger foods. Ladies provide a monetary donation to cover the costs of the food and small prizes that are distributed at the end of the night. This is great night of fun for all of the ladies.
